Frequently Asked Questions

Does Slatero require an internet connection?

No. Slatero is designed to communicate directly between devices on the same local network. The network must allow the devices to communicate with one another, but Slatero does not require an internet-based account or classroom service.

Do students need accounts?

No. Students connect to an available teacher session and use a classroom display name rather than creating an online Slatero account.

Why can’t a student see the teacher’s classroom?

Check that both iPads are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, that the teacher session is running, and that Local Network permission is enabled for Slatero in iPadOS Settings. Some managed, guest, or public Wi-Fi networks prevent devices from communicating with one another.

Can the teacher present student work to the class?

Yes. Slatero is designed to let the teacher select student work for full-screen viewing and presentation on a connected classroom display.

Is classroom work uploaded to Slatero servers?

No. Classroom content is exchanged locally between participating devices and is not uploaded to a Slatero-operated cloud service.

How do I request additional help?

Use the secure contact form on the Slatero Support page. Include your iPad models, iPadOS versions, and a description of what happened.
